Hosting

This website is hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany, on servers in Germany. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with the provider. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in providing the website securely and reliably (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Server logs

With every request the server automatically stores the following information:

  • IP address of the requesting device
  • date and time of the request
  • page or file requested and amount of data transferred
  • the website you came from (referrer)
  • browser type, browser version and operating system

We need this information to deliver the website, find errors and fend off attacks. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The logs are deleted automatically after 7 days. If they are needed to investigate a security incident, we keep the relevant entries until the investigation is complete. They are not combined with other data.

Cookieless audience measurement

To improve our website, we count page views with our own service on our servers in Germany. No cookies are set and no profiles are created. We record the page viewed, the referring website (domain only), the language and the device class. The IP address is not stored. To group views from the same day, we create a hash from the IP address and the browser identifier with a key that changes daily and is discarded after 24 hours. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in improving the website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). If your browser sends a “Do Not Track” signal, we do not count the page view. The data is not passed on to third parties.

Contact form and email

If you write to us using the contact form, we process your name, email address, the topic you choose, your message and, if provided, your organisation and phone number, as well as the address of the page you came from. The data is transmitted in encrypted form to our own customer and order management system (erp.covisa.de) and stored there so that we can handle your enquiry. Only the staff handling your enquiry have access. The system runs on servers operated by Hetzner Online GmbH in Germany.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if your enquiry relates to a contract, otherwise our legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We delete your enquiry once it has been fully dealt with. If it leads to an order, we keep the correspondence for as long as the statutory retention periods under commercial and tax law require.

Job applications

If you apply to us using the contact form or by email, we process your details and documents in order to decide on your application. The legal basis is Section 26 of the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) in conjunction with Art. 88 GDPR and Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. Only the people involved in the selection process have access. If you are hired, the documents become part of your personnel file. If your application is unsuccessful, we delete your data six months after the end of the process so that we can defend ourselves against possible claims under the German General Equal Treatment Act (AGG). If you would like us to keep your application for future positions, we will ask for your consent first (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

Fonts, images and videos

Fonts, images and videos are stored on our own server. No data is transmitted to Google, YouTube or other providers when you visit the website.

Local storage in your browser

If you switch between light and dark mode, your browser stores this choice locally. It is not sent to us and can be deleted in your browser settings.

Encryption

The website is delivered exclusively over an encrypted connection (TLS).

Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and the right to object to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (Art. 21). To exercise these rights, contact info@covisa.de.

You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.
